Memory and knowledge

Your Own AI has several kinds of memory. All of them live on your device, all of them are visible, and every entry can be edited or deleted. Nothing is hidden from you.

Your Memory - the shared profile

Facts about you that all your AIs share, learned from your chats or added by you directly. The Your Memory page shows every fact with where it came from - added by you, learned from a conversation - and lets you edit, forget, or pause learning entirely.

Each AI's own memory

Every AI keeps its own memory of your history together and recalls the right moments when they matter. The Memory page shows each AI's world: its conversations (with their verification hashes), what it remembers, and its knowledge.

Knowledge - what you give them

Knowledge is authored: text entries and documents you hand an AI that it should always know. It keeps its own copy and uses the relevant parts when they help. Knowledge is what makes a character a character - and knowledge collections can be exported and imported as signed packs.

Remember anything, anywhere

  • The Remember button under any reply.
  • Highlight any text in a reply and remember just that.
  • Choose the destination: one AI, all of them, or - in a project - the project itself.

Project memory

Each project keeps a memory all your AIs share: conventions, decisions, context. Working AIs can save notes as they go (you approve each one), sessions distill their takeaways when you finish, and you can edit every line from the project menu or the Memory page.

It survives your laptop

All of it - profile, per-AI, knowledge, and project memory - rides your Vault backup and comes back on a new machine.

Private AI on your machine. No one in control but you.
