Your first chat

1. Get a model

The welcome picks one model for this computer and downloads it while you carry on; you can ask a question before it lands. Prefer to browse? The Offline Models page lists the catalog with filters (coding, reasoning, vision, and more) and shows exactly what each model needs.

The fit dots

Green: runs fully on your graphics card - fast. Yellow: partly on the processor - works, slower. Red: too big for this device.

2. Say hello

Pick an AI in the Ask selector above the message field and start typing. Your three AIs from the welcome each have their own personality - or create your own from the Your AIs page.

3. Attach things

Drag files straight into the message field - documents, spreadsheets, code, images. Ask about them, then use Verify sources under the reply to check any claim against the exact wording in the source. Scanned PDFs work too, with a one-time ~30 MB reading add-on.

4. Make it remember

Under any reply, Remember keeps what matters - or highlight any text and remember just that. Your AIs learn who you are as you chat (pause anytime in Settings → Memory), and everything they know is visible and editable on the Memory page.

Memory works best with the small optional helper model: it does the learning in the background and lets your AIs recall earlier conversations. From the second launch the home page offers it - one download, private, removable in Settings › Storage.

Where everything lives

Every conversation is stored on your device in your records - signed, encrypted, and yours. See Your Data for the full story, including backups and exportable receipts.

Picking up where you left off

The home page keeps a Continue link under the ask box to the conversation you were last in. Every conversation is in the drawer either way; Settings › Appearance turns the link off for a cleaner home page.
