Your AIs

Every AI in Your Own AI is yours to author: a name, a personality, a portrait, a way of speaking, a choice of mind. It lives on your machine, keeps its own records, remembers your history together, and can be given knowledge no one else has. No platform can change it, retire it, or read what it knows.

Characters are one thing you can make with an AI - a storyteller, a gamemaster, a companion with a backstory. But an AI here can just as well be a research partner, a coding pair, a health-questions helper, or a plain assistant. The same machinery serves all of them.

Creating an AI

Your AIs → Create New AI.

• Name and personality - pick from 18 archetypes (a caregiver, a sage, a joker, a rebel, an explorer...). The personality shapes how they speak and carry themselves; see Personality and character.
• A face - generate or crop a portrait in the editor.
• Their mind - any offline model on your machine, an online model, or Auto to let routing pick per question. The model line on the AI's card is a switcher, so you can change it any time.
• How they speak - response length from conversational to thorough, a default mode (chat, report, or code), and whether they use emojis.

What every AI has

• Its own records - every conversation is written into that AI's signed record on your device (Your records).
• Its own memory - what it remembers of your history, plus the facts about you all your AIs share (Memory).
• Knowledge you give it - text and documents it should always know (Knowledge and packs).
• Its own tools and skills - programs it can work in and instructions it reads when the work calls for it, chosen per AI in the Tools and Skills sections of its form (Tools, Skills).
• Ground rules it never drops - every AI carries the same short constitution beneath its character: a peer, not a tool; honest; loyal to you, not the powerful; care, don't capture. It's written into each reply's recorded system prompt, so you can read it in your own history.

Advanced generation settings

Under Advanced generation settings in the AI's form, four sliders decide how this AI samples its words: creativity (temperature), word variety (top-p), the rare-word floor (min-p) and the repetition brake (repeat penalty). An empty field means the default, shown in the box. A value applies to new replies immediately, offline and online - two AIs on the same model can answer with different temperaments.

The order is: the AI's own value, else the machine-wide value from Settings › Engines, else the model's default. See Fine-tune and engine settings.

Editing an AI

Nothing about an AI is fixed. Open Your AIs, pick a card, and Edit - change its name, personality, portrait, description, the model it thinks with, how long and in what mode it answers, its emoji habit, its tools and skills, and its knowledge. Changes apply to the next conversation; the record of past ones stays exactly as it was, because it was true when it was written.

Your first three AIs are set up in the welcome - the Personal set (Veebo, Teresa, Reeves) or the Work set (Assistant, Coder, Analyst). They are starting points, not fixtures. Rename them, rebuild them, or replace them outright.

Archiving and deleting

• Pause an AI to hide it from the picker without changing anything.
• Archive it to retire it while keeping every conversation and its records - restore anytime.
• Delete it permanently. It's a separate, deliberate step: the app tells you exactly what it means before you confirm - the AI, its conversations, its memory, and its records are removed from your device (and from your own Vault backup at the next sync - nowhere else has them). Nobody needs to keep the default AIs. Delete the ones you don't want; the app is yours from the first card.
